Happy New Year and welcome to our website. We give thanks to God for a wonderful year in 2009. As we look back, we realized that 2009 was a foundational year for FPBC. God was preparing us for the future. We welcome 2010 with great anticipation that God is leading us forward to becoming a "City on a Hill". I shared with the church last Sunday that to achieve God's vision, we need to return to God and His ways (JER 6:16). We have to rediscover the forgotten ways practiced in the early church. The early church found in the book of Acts was vibrant and rapidly multiplying. We desire to see that kind of church today. We believe that the early church possessed at least 5 components that can simply be expressed through the acronym REACH.

Radical Discipleship
Embodying the message through service
APEPT function in the body
Comradeship-like community living
House church (organic and multiplying)

REACH describes for us the essential "ingredients" for us to becoming a "City on a Hill". In 2010, we hope to achieve 4 things spelled out in the acronym ACTS.

APEPT structural transition
Communicate the good news through service
Train a catalyst group of people to start discipling in groups (DIG)
Start house/cell church that resembles the early church

We invite everyone to participate in ACTS as we cling on to Jesus to REACH our goal to becoming a City on a Hill. In closing, I would like to wish everyone a blessed new year.

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Matt 5:16)
